Firefly Italy Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jun-2018 and 31-Dec-2024

STANDARD RATE INCLUSIONS
- VAT 22%
- Daily Road Fee (VLF)
- Unlimited mileage
- Liability Insurance for injuries or damages to persons or things outside the vehicle.
- Rental includes Collision Damage coverage. Rental limits potential vehicle damage liability to an excess starting from. EUR 1600.00
- Rental includes Theft Protection for the vehicle. Rental limits potential vehicle loss liability to an excess starting from EUR 1600.00

EXCLUDES
- Insurance coverage for personal injuries to driver or passengers.
- Optional coverage may be available locally at an additional cost that will reduce the insurance excess.
- Gasoline or Diesel. Client is advised to return the vehicle with a full fuel tank and to retain copies of gas receipts or a local refuelling charge will apply. Exception: Pre-paid fuel option, in which case, vehicle should be returned as empty as possible.
- Local toll, highway fees, or travel stickers which may be required by local authorities.

DEPOSIT
A Credit Card, issued on lead driver’s name is required for the deposit. The deposit will be EUR 600.00 for car group MBMR - EDMR - CXMR (B-C-U ) / EUR 900.00 for car group IDMR - IWMR (E-F). Cash deposit will not be accepted. The cost of full fuel tank and any additional charges to be incurred during the rental period will be charged.  A credit card in the name of the main driver is mandatory.  At time of pickup of the rented vehicle, the lead driver needs to leave a deposit by credit card. The amount will be blocked from the credit card in the lead driver’s name. The responsibility lies with the renter who presents a valid credit card that is accepted by Firefly. 
VISA and MASTERCARD Debit cards are only accepted for car group B,C.

EXCESS
The personal liability in case of damage is: EUR1600.00 excl. VAT for categories Economy and Compact; EUR1900.00 excl. VAT for all other categories. The personal liability in case of theft is: EUR1600.00 excl. VAT for categories Economy and Compact; EUR 2600.00 excl. VAT for all other categories. The insurance is invalid when the client appears to be negligent.

MINIMUM / MAXIMUM AGE
The minimum age for all categories is 23 years. There is no maximum age restriction.

- Booster Seat: Availability of Booster seats is on request. The charges are EUR 9.00 excl. VAT per day, per seat with a maximum of EUR 36.00 excl. VAT. The age and/ or weight of the child must be advised at time of booking.
- Child seat / Infant seat: Availability of Baby and child –seats is on request. The price is EUR12.00 excl. VAT per day, per seat with a maximum  EUR 84.00 excl. VAT. The age and/ or weight of the child must be advised at time of booking. Prices vary by type
- Fuel Service Charge: EUR 30,00 per transactions + Gasoline
- Additional Driver: EUR 10.00 per day (max. EUR 140.00).
- GPS: Availability of GPS is on request. The charges are EUR 15.00 excl. VAT per day. Must be advised at time of booking. Penalty for theft/damage EUR 120.00
- Young Driver Surcharge 21-22: EUR 16.00 per day (max. EUR 196.00)
- Out of Hours fee: EUR 50.00  
- Snow Chains: EUR 10.00 per day max. 5 days

Customer can purchase the SC (SuperCover), to waive Customer already limited liability in case of damage to, or theft of the vehicle. Product sold at the counter.

SUPER COVER
Customer can purchase the SC (SuperCover), to waive Customer already limited liability in case of damage to, or theft of the vehicle. Product sold at the counter. Please note: the insurance coverage does not cover damage to windows, wheels, tyres, the roof, underside & interior of the vehicle, towing charges or damage caused negligently, willfully or recklessly.
SC amount:
Car Groups B-C-U: EUR 30.00 per day + VAT
Car Groups E-F: EUR 32.00 per day + VAT
The SuperCover expressly excludes:
Damage to tyres, tyre rims, the vehicle's interior, outside rear view mirrors, glass and underside
Flat tyres and blowouts
Loss-of-income for the days the vehicle cannot be used due to repairs
Tow-truck costs
Damage to the clutch
Battery recharge
Additional products are available at the desk to totally or partially reduce the related  excess"

GLASS & TYRES
Customer can purchase the G&T (Glass&Tyres), to waive Customer liability in case of damage to glass or tyres. Product sold at the counteris.

G&T amount:
All Car Groups: EUR 9.00 per day + VAT

DAMAGE LIABILITY
Unless damage to the vehicle is noted in the rental agreement before departure, Customer will receive a vehicle without problems or visible damage. Customer are therefore responsible for any damage that occurs as a result of incidents during the rental period to the limit of their personal liability. Any unnoticed accident or damage to the vehicle may be interpreted as negligence. This may result in a charge to the client. Damage handling Fee EUR 50.00 + VAT

P.A.I. INSURANCE
Personal Accident Insurance is not included in the travel insurance.

THIRD PARTY LIABILITY
Basic insurance includes coverage on bodily injury to persons other than the driver (EUR 1,000,000.00 per person up to a maximum of EUR 5,000,000.00) and property damage (up to EUR 1,000,000.00) to anything other than the Firefly vehicle

From November 15th to April 15th snow chain are mandatory in the following locations:(Please note the cost is already included on the rate)

FUEL
The car will be provided with a full tank, and must be returned full. Customer be informed that missing fuel plus a service fee will be charged if the rental car is not returned with a full tank of fuel. 
In case customer return the car without a full fuel of tank, we'll be charge EUR 30.00 + VAT and the cost of fuel missing

DRIVERS LICENSE
All drivers need to be in possession of a valid drivers licence for at least 1 year. International driving licences are required for renters who present a NON-EU driving license. International driving licences are only valid outside the country of origin and when presented along with the original driving license.

EXTRA DRIVERS
Extra drivers can be added to the local rental agreement. A charge of EUR 10.00 excl. VAT per driver, per rental day with a maximum of EUR 140.00 excl. VAT applies. All extra drivers must be present at time of pick up.

No Show: 
- No Refund for customers who fail to show if there has been no cancellation.

COLLECTING THE VEHICLE
To pick-up your rented vehicle Customer need to be in possession of a number of documents: Customer  ID, a valid drivers license, the rental voucher and a credit card in lead drivers name. Customer  may also be obligated to carry an International driver's license. Please refer to Customer National Automobile Club to inquire if an International driver's license may be required. It is important to provide us with your flight number prior to departure. Firefly monitors Customer flight to prepare the vehicle in time. Customer is advised to check whether the fuel tank is full and whether there is any damage to the vehicle that is not noted in the rental agreement when collecting the rental car. All extras such as one way charges, surcharges for young and extra drivers, out of hours surcharges, child seats etc. must all be paid in full upon collection at the location. These additional options are subject to local taxes.

CROSS BORDER
It is permitted to travel beyond the borders of continental Italy paying the X-Border Fee: EUR 90.00 +VAT. Please note only some Countries are permitted. Ask at time of booking

It is not permitted the vehicle drop off, beyond the borders of continental Italy. In such case, an International drop off penalty, EUR 1.000 will be applied

DES - Diesel Engine Surcharge
If the delivered vehicle is Diesel there is an extra charge from 2,5 EUR/day. No  charge for Gasoline vehicle.

RENTAL PERIOD
1 day is interpreted as a period of 24 hours. Included in this 24 hour period is the time where you collect and return the rental vehicle.  

EXTRA DAY
The return of the vehicle over the stated end time of the rental contract will generate a charge corresponding to the additional rental days.

CAR GROUP AND CAPACITY 
The vehicles mentioned on the website or in the reservation confirmation represent a category. The make and model are merely mentioned as example and could differ from the car presented at time of pick-up. We reserve the right to provide an alternative vehicle from the same category which is determined by the number passenger seats, number of doors, transmission and combustible. The availability is checked regular, nevertheless it remains a guidline.

Mini (MBMR): Fiat Panda, Fiat 500, Toyota Aygo,, Renault Twingo or similar

Economy (EDMR): Opel Corsa, Fiat Punto, Lancia Y, Toyota Yaris or similar

Compact (CXMR): Fiat 500L, Ford Focus, Fiat Qubo or similar

Intermediate (IDMR): Fiat 500X, Ford C-Max or similar

Family (IWMR): Fiat 500XL, Opel Zafira or similar

RETURNING THE VEHICLE
At the end of the rental period Customer have to  return the vehicle undamaged at the agreed time to the correct location. It is wise to save the rental documents for a certain period after Customer returned the vehicle.

MECHANICAL PROBLEMS
In the case of mechanical problems you must inform us immediately. The telephone number can be found on the rental agreement. Permission for reparations or a replacement vehicle must be given by Firefly.

SPECIAL REQUESTS
All additional items such as child seats and other extras are on request and subject to availability. A surcharge must be paid at the location.

EXTRA CLEANING
When the state in which a vehicle is returned requires an extra  valeting and cleaning we apply a charge of EUR120 + VAT at Firefly’s discretion for Special Cleaning

FINE HANDLING FEE
For each fine managed we apply a fee by EUR 25.00 + VAT

REIMBURSEMENT
For (partially) unused vouchers there will be no reimbursement. No reimbursement is given when Customer collect the vehicle later or return it sooner than the given dates and times. This also applies if  Customer cannot rent the vehicle because Customer is not in possession of the right official documents or Customer is not able to leave a deposit. Also there will be no reimbursement if Customer cannot provide the requested documents.

DELAYS
When Customer encounter a delay during travelling that might cause Customer to miss out the pickup time, we urge Customer to immediately contact the location counter itself (details shown on “Rental Agreement”). If neither of us is informed, Firefly may rent out the vehicle to others when the grace period has past. If the rental vehicle can only be picked up after closing hours due to the delay, Firefly might account the Customer  for an “out of hours fee”. Please note we can wait for a Customer, when the delay of the aircraft is publicly announced and the Customer have provided the flight info,  up to a maximum of 1.5 hours after the official closing time of a Firefly Location. After that time the Customer can collect the booked car the next opening day.

ONE-WAY
- Only one-way between Firefly Italy branches is allowed.

The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. Liability

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.

While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Refund Policy
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable. 

Disputes
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
