Firefly Italy Rental Terms for travel between 15-Dec-2015 and 31-Dec-2019
An initial, non-refundable deposit will be secured at the time of booking confirmation. Accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard.
The balance is to be paid directly to the supplier on arrival.
Customers Travelling from Greece
Given the capital controls still in place in Greece, for customers travelling from Greece, we will only be able to honour your upcoming Firefly bookings if you can produce a non-Greek credit/debit card at the counter. This restriction applies even if you have prepaid for your rental, as we need this alternative method of payment as a security deposit and for payment of local required additional charges. Accordingly, we are unable to accept any method of payment different from the specified above.

Daily Road Fee (VLF)
Liability Insurance for injuries or damages to persons or things outside the vehicle.
Rental includes Collision Damage coverage. Rental limits potential vehicle damage liability to an excess starting from. EUR 1600.00.
Rental includes Theft Protection for the vehicle. Rental limits potential vehicle loss liability to an excess starting from EUR 2200.00.

RENTAL DOES NOT INCLUDE
Insurance coverage for personal injuries to driver or passengers.
Optional coverage may be available locally at an additional cost that will reduce the insurance excess.
Gasoline or Diesel. Client is advised to return the vehicle with a full fuel tank and to retain copies of gas receipts or a local refuelling charge will apply. Exception: Pre-paid fuel option, in which case, vehicle should be returned as empty as possible.
Local toll, highway fees, or travel stickers which may be required by local authorities.
STANDARD TERMS AND CONDITIONS APPLIED
Additional coverage may be available for purchase at rental counter.
An International drivers license is strongly recommended for renters holding a non EU license.
Please ensure that you have available ID and a valid and full national driver's licence held for a minimum of 1 year (in case of a UK photo-card licence the card and paper counterpart).
All rentals are based on 24 hour periods minimum rental, a full day is charged for any portion of a day that the vehicle is used.
Optional items and Deliveries/Collections are on a request basis only, for an additional fee.
Minimum driver age 23.
Additional drivers sign on and pay locally. Drivers ages 21-22 must pay an additional fee to drive.
In case of traffic violations, we will charge the customer's credit card an administration fee of EUR 35.00 + VAT, per fine. The local authorities will then contact the renter directly for payment of the fine.
In the event that the rental car is involved in an accident (single & third party) or is stolen, an administration fee of EUR 35.00 + VAT, will apply in additional to the excess. This is non refundable.
Please note: the coverage does not cover any damage to windows, wheels, tyres, roof, underside & interior of the vehicle, towing charge or damage caused negligently, willfully or recklessly.
The pricing related to the additional items/services could change without advise. The price charged is the one valid at the time of pick up not at the time of booking.
Some of our Locations are off-airport with free shuttle service for our Customers.

FULL TERMS (ALL AMOUNTS ARE VAT 22% EXCLUDED)
The personal liability in case of damage is: €1650 excl. VAT for categories Economy and Compact; €2250 excl. VAT for all other categories. The personal liability in case of theft is: €1900 excl. VAT for categories Economy and Compact; € 2600 excl. VAT for all other categories. The insurance is invalid when the client appears to be negligent.
The car will be provided with a full tank, and must be returned full. Customer be informed that missing fuel plus a service fee of 40.00€+ VAT will be charged if the rental car is not returned with a full tank of fuel.
All drivers need to be in possession of a valid drivers licence for at least 1 year. International driving licences are required for renters who present a NON-EU driving license. International driving licences are only valid outside the country of origin and when presented along with the original driving license.
Minimum / Maximum age
The minimum age for all categories is 21 years. There is no maximum age restriction.
Young Driver Surcharge
the customer who 's not 23 years old, in order to be allowed to drive, need to pay an extra fee of 16,00 € + VAT daily rate (max 160 Euro)
Delivery / collection

Travelling beyond the borders of continental Italy
Only acquiring our Scover product it is permitted to travel beyond the borders of continental Italy paying the X-Border Fee: 90€ +VAT. Please note only some Countries are permitted.Those are:DE,BE,FR,CH,UK,NL,ES,AT. In any case please ask at time of booking
It is not permitted the vehicle drop off, beyond the borders of continental Italy. In such case, an International drop off penalty, € 1.500 + VAT, will be applied
DES - Diesel Engine Surcharge
If the Customer requests a Diesel car there is an extra charge from 2,5 €/day. No charge for Gasoline vehicle
If a Customer uses a valid credit card ( VISA, Mastercard and American Express cards are accepted) a reasonable fee (currently 3.30 € + VAT) will apply to cover our costs for processing the payment with Customer credit card company. If a Customer uses a valid credit card when he/she pick up the car, and a valid debit card (Electron cards or those which carry the words "Electronic use only" are not accepted) at car return, no credit card or debit card charges will apply.
Where snow chains are not supplied as per Authoritthies regulamentation, are on request, and must be requested at time of booking; Cost 10 Euro per day (Max 50 Euro)
Extra drivers can be added to the local rental agreement. A charge of € 10.00 excl. VAT per driver, per rental day with a maximum of € 140.00 excl. VAT applies. All extra drivers must be present at time of pick up.
Infant / child seats
Availability of Baby and child –seats is on request. The price is € 12.00 excl. VAT per day, per seat with a maximum € 84.00 excl. VAT. The age and/ or weight of the child must be advised at time of booking. Prices vary by type
Availability of Booster seats is on request. The charges are € 9.00 excl. VAT per day, per seat with a maximum of € 36.00 excl. VAT. The age and/ or weight of the child must be advised at time of booking.
Availability of GPS is on request. The charges are € 15.00 excl. VAT per day with a maximum amount of 105.00€ per rental. Must be reqiuest at time of booking. Penalty for theft/damage 120 euro
WIFI availability is on request. The charges are € 13,50 excl. VAT per day with a maximum amount of 135,00€ per rental. Must be advised at time of booking.
Collecting the vehicle
To pick-up your rented vehicle Customer need to be in possession of a number of documents: Customer ID, a valid drivers license, the rental voucher and a credit card in lead drivers name. Customer may also be obligated to carry an International driver's license. Please refer to Customer National Automobile Club to inquire if an International driver's license may be required. It is important to provide us with your flight number prior to departure. Firefly monitors Customer flight to prepare the vehicle in time. Customer is advised to check whether the fuel tank is full and whether there is any damage to the vehicle that is not noted in the rental agreement when collecting the rental car. All extras such as one way charges, surcharges for young and extra drivers, out of hours surcharges, child seats etc. must all be paid in full upon collection at the location. These additional options are subject to local taxes.
Personal Accident Insurance is not included in the travel insurance. It cost 3.72 euro per day
Third Party Liability
Basic insurance includes coverage on bodily injury to persons other than the driver (EUR 1,000,000.00 per person up to a maximum of EUR 5,000,000.00) and property damage (up to EUR 1,000,000.00) to anything other than the Firefly vehicle
Car group and capacity
The vehicles mentioned on the website or in the reservation confirmation represent a category. The make and model are merely mentioned as example and could differ from the car presented at time of pick-up. We reserve the right to provide an alternative vehicle from the same category which is determined by the number passenger seats, number of doors, transmission and combustible. The availability is checked regular, nevertheless it remains a guideline.
Returning the vehicle
At the end of the rental period Customer have to return the vehicle undamaged at the agreed time to the correct location. It is wise to save the rental documents for a certain period after Customer returned the vehicle.
In the case of mechanical problems you must inform us immediately. The telephone number can be found on the rental agreement. Permission for reparations or a replacement vehicle must be given by Firefly.
All additional items such as child seats and other extras are on request and subject to availability. A surcharge must be paid at the location.
Deposit & Credit Cards
"Firefly require Customer to pay a deposit equal to the total amount of personal liability, cost of full fuel tank and any additional charges to be incurred during the rental period. The minimum deposit is linked to the CDW excess amount. A credit card in the name of the main driver is mandatory. At all locations a cash deposit will not be accepted. At time of pickup of the rented vehicle, the lead driver needs to leave a deposit by credit card. The amount will be reserved from the credit card in the lead driver’s name. The responsibility lies with the renter who presents a valid credit card that is accepted by Firefly. Debit cards will not be accepted, or Electron debit/credit card or Bancomat or Postepay. Diners Card is not accepted.
Cash deposit will not be accepted. "
The amount charged is: 199 Euro for all car groups + Road Assistance call or Towing fee 150EUR
Fee covers the cost of emptying and cleaning a tank and fuel feeder system of a vehicle filled with the wrong fuel and the cost of any missing fuel, transport of the vehicle to the workshop and immobilization of the vehicle up to be ready to rent again.
In case of misfueling, the FF maintenance supervisor makes the decision between a reparation by our service or by a local supplier.
The amount charged is: 155 EUR for all car groups + (eventually) Road Assistance call or Towing fee 150EUR

It is always applied in case of Customer requests related to an issue with a wheel, while the car has the replacement wheel or repair kit
This charge doesn't apply to mechanical problems where Firefly is responsible.
Renter Not Driving Fee
Renter not driving service is subject to Firefly Staff approval. If Approved will be subject to an additional fee as below:
Minimum per Rental: 50,00€ / 1-14 Days 7€ per day / 15-21 Days 6€ per day / >21 day 4.5€ per day
Unless damage to the vehicle is noted in the rental agreement before departure, Customer will receive a vehicle without problems or visible damage. Customer are therefore responsible for any damage that occurs as a result of incidents during the rental period to the limit of their personal liability. Any unnoticed accident or damage to the vehicle may be interpreted as negligence. This may result in a charge to the client. Damage handling Fee 35 euro + VAT
When the state in which a vehicle is returned requires an extra valeting and cleaning we apply a charge of €120 + VAT at Firefly’s discretion for Special Cleaning

Additional products are available at the desk to totally or partially reduce the related excess
Damage Administration Fee
If no additional cover is purchased at the office (SCDW) and the rented vehicle is damaged during the rental, in addition of any damage charges which could arise up, customer will be charged for a damage administration fee of 60 €.
Glass & Tyres
Customer can purchase the G&T (Glass&Tyres), to waive Customer liability in case of damage to glass or tyres. Product sold at the counteris.
All Car Groups Price per day 9.00 Euro + VAT
Fine Handling Fee
For each fine managed we apply a fee by 35 Euro + VAT
1 day is interpreted as a period of 24 hours. Included in this 24 hour period is the time where you collect and return the rental vehicle.
Late Return Charge & Additional Rental Days
Our rental rates are calculated based on 24-hour periods from the beginning of the rental. Failure to return the vehicle at the point of return or pick up location agreed at the time indicated on your rental contract, you will be charged an extra day rental to the current daily rate (including fees for contracted options) by each day or portion of each day of delay in return of the vehicle. This fee is subject to an additional period of time (or ""grace period"") of 0.29 min.
Also, Firefly, along with the collection of an additional day provided for in the preceding paragraph, will be entitled to apply an extra charge for late returns of 30 €, which will operate in the event of passing the grace period and not having communicated the office about the will of extending the contract.
If you change your booking, we will cancel the original booking and will replace it with new booking fee which is calculated based on the availability and prices in effect at the date and time of the change.
This applies to changes made to: Name of the main customer, Pick up location, Date & time of pick up, Date and time of return, Category of vehicle
If no vehicle is available for the place and date requested, change the date or pick up location and will be happy to change your booking.
Changes at the time of pickup
If you want to change your booking at the time of pickup of the vehicle, for example, to rent a larger vehicle or for a different period of time, we will try to comply, subject to availability, and we will propose a new price in the local currency.
For (partially) unused vouchers there will be no reimbursement. No reimbursement is given when Customer collect the vehicle later or return it sooner than the given dates and times. This also applies if Customer cannot rent the vehicle because Customer is not in possession of the right official documents or Customer is not able to leave a deposit. Also there will be no reimbursement if Customer cannot provide the requested documents.
Delays / Out of Hours
If your flight arrives late, out of hours pick-up is available if you show at the counter no later than 60 minutes after Rental Office closing hours and have provided your flight details. An additional service fee will apply as follows: EUR 50. If you show at the counter later than 60 minutes after Rental Office closing hours and have not provided your flight details, your vehicle will be available for collection during Rental Office opening hours next day. Any rental contract within opening hours, but from 23:59 pm will have an extra charge of 50.00 €. For this service it is essential that you provide your flight number. In case of delay in your flight, the client won´t be waited for unless the flight information is recorded at the time of booking.
This charge applies regardless of whether the flight is delayed or on time, if the customer arrives later than 23:59 hours at our offices.
Terms of booking on this website
The rates on this website are often heavily discounted. This is due to our negotiated rates and bulk buying power. On very rare occasions, a rate may be displayed incorrectly due to our, or a vehicle supplier's error. In such a case, if you book with us at a quoted rate that is incorrect, we will notify you of any price change and give you the option to proceed or cancel. We make every effort to keep information on our site up to date, but we cannot guarantee this website is free of errors or omissions and retain the right to update or change the information published at any time.
To the extent permitted by law we/the owners of this website will not be liable to you or to any third party (whether in contract, tort, or otherwise) for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage (including but not limited to any accident, injury, delay or loss of enjoyment) arising out of your reliance upon information contained on this website, including but not limited to your use (or inability to use) any products or services described or procured through this website.
When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier's rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Vehicle capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.
In the event of cancellation, any deposit amounts paid at the time of booking are non-refundable.
If you are unsatisfied with our service, please contact us within 48 hours of placing your booking or request and we will work to resolve any issues and determine if compensation is due. In the event you have completed your rental and are unhappy with your vehicle, we are happy to assist you in seeking compensation from the operator of the vehicle.
